Do you ever feel like life is passing you by?

Do you ever feel like all you're doing is saving and paying bills and that while all this is happening, you wake up one day to realize a good chunk of life has passed you by? Hubby and I have our moments on this train of thought, but I try to be positive for the both of us and say we are very lucky. We have everything we need, just not everything we want.

I know there are people who are better off financially than us, but I also know there are many who are not as financially secure as us. I try to think of that and reassure hubby that even though we budget down to the penny and all expenditures are talked about together before any decisions are made, we are "rich" in peace of mind.

Do you ever feel this way?

  1. yeppers! this is why we have decided to add in 'savings' that goes towards things that are important & fun to our family - keeps us balanced while we are trying to pay off debt...

  2. jpkittie - good on you for adding a savings line in the budget for important/fun stuff - you are right, balance is very important on the road to financial freedom.

  3. Actually, I feel that way more than I'd like to admit! I guess I'm feeling like we are in the home stretch before retirement, and this last decade needs to count, financially. However, I don't want it to pass by without me enjoying it! So....you are not alone....

Balance...as stated above...is the key. Let's hope I can maintain balance over the next several years! :)!
