Our Jobs

Being Thankful - In reading a lot of PF blogs, one thing that we are taking away from them, during the past couple of years, is how thankful we are, in having our jobs. Hubby's 2009 income ended up being about an 8% cut from his 2008 income and mine fortunately went up a bit - we have both been with our current employers for 10+ years each, so we are glad and fortunate that, that loyalty and hard work has allowed us to remain employed. We never want to take our employment for granted, so that is why we feel we have implemented ways to live within our means. We definitely put a lot more thought process in our purchases, than we would have before, which is a good habit for us to carry forward with, in our future. We adhere to a strict budget - which is key I believe, in never over extending ourselves. So we never take our jobs for granted. The lessons and resources we have learned and adapted to, with the recent economy, has actually been a good thing for us. I feel we have always been responsible, but even more so now and definitely weighing in on value for money - before we spend our hard earned dollars.
